The Challenge: Funding a Major Solar Investment

The proposed installation represented a significant investment in the business's infrastructure and long-term energy strategy.

With a solar capacity of 940 kilowatt-peak (kWp), the system was designed to support lower-carbon operations, with an estimated contribution equivalent to approximately 16% of the site's baseload electricity demand.

However, funding the construction and installation required careful planning to avoid placing unnecessary pressure on working capital.

The business needed a solution that could accommodate payments during the installation process rather than simply funding the completed asset.

The Solution: £620,000 Hire Purchase Funding

Working closely with Investec Asset Finance, Reality arranged a flexible Hire Purchase facility structured around the project's requirements.

A key feature of the arrangement was the pre-hire structure, which allowed funding to support the construction and installation stages.

This helped manage supplier payments while reducing the immediate impact on the customer's working capital.

The arrangement also incorporated a three-month VAT deferral, providing additional flexibility during the initial stages of the investment.
